WEEKENDS ROCK!

Well Mr. Carter is teething. Officially. I know...he has three more teeth on the top coming in. I was secretly hoping this wasn't the case since I am still trying to nurse however after Friday night....(ouch!) we have a new plan that includes bottles. Luckily I have a freezer full of milk so I am not going to start him on formula anytime soon but he's doing very well with the bottle. I might be crazy but it just seems like he's quite young to have all these teeth. Anyways, here are some pics from our weekend. Cole and Chris built this lego car and Cole took a picture of it. The  other photos are just photos from around the house. It's not very quiet at our house...and sometimes Chris and I think we may go crazy...but we sure have alot of fun with the kids.

NOTRE DAME HATS AND MRS. GROUNDHOG

The mornings are a little hectic sometimes at our house. I usually stay up pretty late (Hi...it's 3 a.m...how about some sleep!)  working on different projects for clients so when Cole rises bright and shiny at 6 a.m. (EVERY MORNING!...no...... really EVERY MORNING...even Saturday AND Sunday!) sometimes I'm a little groggy to say the least. After a few minutes into the theme song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse I snap out of it and start the coffee pot. Cole has his specific favorites for breakfast every morning. These  include sausage, sliced strawberries and of course blueberries (how did I get such a high maintence kid...oh....... have you met my hubby...Christopher?!). We follow this routine every morning....except for the mornings that we have leftover pizza. Then it's off to the bath-tub, brushing the teeth, etc.

So this week I took some photos of Carter after I loaded him into his car seat. He...is definitely my child. He savors the quiet moments in the mornings while he stares at his hands and lays quietly in his crib smiling and laughing.( Please note, Cole NEVER ever did this). Ah....a quiet baby..such a HAPPY baby! Carter is also a late sleeper he could snooze late into the morning (8 a.m.!)  if I could keep Cole quiet. Cole enjoys singing while in the bathtub.  Please enjoy with your viewing pleasure Carter in his Notre Dame hat (Thanks Grama LeeAnn and Grampa Gil!) as he too struggles to face the day and brave the wintery cold weather outside to drop Cole (a.k.a. Mr. Morning Sunshine) off at school.

And just for the heck of it. Here is Cole with his picture (1/2 of it!) of Sheila the Groundhog he made at school. Yes, she did see her shadow Cole informed me!

THE BOAT-By Cole Smith

Once upon a time there was a boat that took someone to New York City. It crashed and broke its nose. They made a new boat. It was snowing. It can go in the snow. The End.

SUNDAY MORNING AND SIPPY CUPS

We discovered Friday night that Carter can drink from a glass and a sippy cup. Chris was on the couch drinking some water and Carter was anxiously reaching for the glass so Chris gave him a drink. Oh gosh....Carter is just doing everything early!

Carter can almost sit up by himself. Here has has the boppy to help stay upright. Occasionally he falls to the side and at that time Cole says (very loudly!) "TIMBER!" (and then laughs...see below!)

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY and A FEW JOKES FROM COLE

A joke from Cole:

Why did the birds fly south for the winter?

-----

Because it's toooooooooooo far to walk!

Why did the bear hibernate through the winter?

-----

Because it was toooooooooooo cold.

Here is a picture of Cole's legos. (he took the picture too!)

The kids Valentine's Day morning 2009! Carter got a little Glow worm. As you can see he loves it!
Cole was very excited with his new legos. We'll post some pictures of what he created with the new legos. Of course Daddy helps him!

............and one more story from Cole......at school the they have the kids pick out a picture from a selection of magazine clippings and then the kids make up a story to go along with it. This is a one on one process with the teacher or parent volunteer. I've volunteered in his class and done this with the kids. It's really amazing what the kids come up with!

Rally Racing by Cole Smith
(he choose a picture of two race cars on a racing track)
(this story has not be edited in anyway)

Once upon a time there was a rally racing team. They crashed in another car that they were not able to fix up the car. They made another car that was not like it so they made a blue car. They didn't like it so they made another car that was covered in orange and pink and blue. Then they made a new track. Then they had to make another care because the red and blue car crashed into a car that was pink. The End.

Carter is 6 months old today! I can hardly believe it! (I wish the clock would stand still for just a little bit. He's growing way too fast!)
