WEEKEND FUN

We had a busy weekend. Chris worked an extra day on Saturday so I was home with the kids on Saturday. This picture is from earlier in the week but I wanted to share it. Carter loves having a bath and then we wrap him up in a warm towel and he is perfectly content. So here's Dad and Carter. Shortly after this Carter took a 3 hour nap. Yes!

So the weekend started with a surprise birthday party for Madison. She turned 20 on the 20th so David planned a suprise party for her Friday night. I was amazed at how many people were there. Madison has alot of friends and most of the people from Swan Valley showed up too. Good job David! There were plenty of kids to play with and Cole had a great time running around playing tag with the kids. David has a very nice shop and all the equipment is perfectly organized.

Here's the happy couple. Madison looked suprised and very happy!

So after the party we came back to Idaho Falls. It was raining and I am of course a nervous wreck driving on Highway 30 so I was glad to get home. A ambulance and police car passed us going very very fast when we were coming home. I'm sure there was an accident with the slick roads. I'm glad we made it home safe.

So Saturday was pretty low key with Chris at work. Cole and I played with his train set for a very long time. (He's actually playing with it again now as I type this.)

Here he is putting Sir Topham Hat in his train carrier, Annie for a ride.

Carter had fun watching.

These are the characters of Thomas the Tank Engine. Mr. Conducter 1 and 2 and Sir Topham Hat.

So after we were done with Thomas it was time for crafts. It's my goal to glitter anything and everything I can and it's perfect timing with all the holidays approaching. We checked out Michaels, the craft store and they are preparing for Christmas....the new Christmas trees are not out yet....but I'm sure we'll be buying a few (if not more) pink Christmas trees again. I have 2 already but we need more. I think Christmas trees in each room is appropriate. We here at the Smith house....LOVE Christmas and all the glitz and glitter that comes with it.

So we glittered pumpkins. We have 5 more to do and 4 LARGE pumpkins but for now we got 2 done. It takes a while.

Silly silly kid.

Here's our finished products.

The next few photos are of Carter "helping" me put away the paper towels....he's so silly!

A END TO THE SOCCER SEASON, HALLOWEEN PREP, AND SOME WILD THINGS

We are in full preparation for Halloween here at the Smith Residence. Cole, Carter, Chris and I worked on our gingerbread Halloween house.

Then...Chris decided everyone needed black mustaches....

Carter really liked his mustache!

The lovely finished project.

Side view....we got a little crazy with the candy!

And...this is my lovely disaster of an attempt at Parker House Rolls....it's a Martha recipe and the idea was to cut lovely 3 inch strips and then fold them in half as rectangles...I had some problems with the technique...

However...they were pretty yummy with the potato soup. Full of butter!!!

We also had Cole's last soccer game of the season. He scored 4 goals and played very well.

He's very proud of his medal.

Whitney (my little sister) and Carter walking around....

Very proud Cole.

A FEW UPDATES

A few busy weeks have passed by. Here is what we've been up to.

Cole helping me make a raspberry sauce for the ebelskiver's I made.

Here's my new evelskiver pan, turn tools, and pancake mix.

Cole helping me whip the egg white's into "soft peaks". Sorry...he just doesn't wear pants at home...he's always in his underpants!

On the stove....

Cute kid.

After breakfast, Cole announced it was Andy's birthday so we had a small birthday party for him. Cole wrapped up a few toys for him and made him a birthday cupcake. The cupcake is on his lap. We sang and had a nice party for Cole's special friend Andy. (Andy has gone everywhere with us. He's been to Virginia when we visited Chris, to California when we visited my Grandmama.....and Grandma Kathy fixed his eyeball for us. For a while...Andy only had ONE eye!)

This is Cole watching the  "Where the Wild Things Are" movie trailer. The movie comes out this weekend and we hope to take him. He has all the character's that go with the movie. They were watching too!

Chris feeding Carter.

This is the family at Red Robin. Carter had a great time.

This is our nephew Henry. He is almost 2! It is so fun to get the cousins together so they can all play.

The festival family from my birthday.

More fun....love Red Robin!
