On Sunday afternoon I put Carter down for a nap and closed his door slightly. He's out of the crib now and is sleeping in a big boy bed. To be honest. I wish he was still in the crib. I don't have anywhere in the house now to put him if I need to shower or just sit down for a minute. He can climb out of anything and everything. We started with the baby-gate but he has figured out how to hop and climb over that in 1 second flat. I was almost ready to put the high-chair away too but then I realized...the high-chair is the last item in our house that buckles and is somewhat secure. He will probably sit in the high-chair until he's 5. (I am kidding.....)
Anyways, fast forward 2 1/2 hours. Chris is watching football and mentions that Carter is taking a long nap. Isn't that nice? Right when he says that we hear Carter rustling in his room. Cole is the first one to greet him and all I hear is, "Mom, uh...I think Carter got into something...his face is really shiny."
Carter found a container of vaseline on his changing table that was safely put away inside of an organizer type of box.
Carter then used every bit of vaseline to moisturize his cheeks, his Pillow Pet's cheeks, his blanket, his bed, his sheets, and his puppy dog stuffed animal. Because "my cheeks are soooooooooooo dry!" says Carter
Currently, all of these said items are being soaked in a spray-n-wash/Dawn dish soap mixture.
On the side of positivity: Carter's cheeks are in fact incredibly soft.....
And everything has been removed from his changing table. Except for a few pairs of socks inside the drawer.
What I learned is anytime a kid is quiet for too long something with either glue, goo, or gum is involved.
