WOOOWEE....WHERE DID WE GO?

Ah! Sorry. It's been two weeks! This is a super super super long post...but after you read it you'll be all caught up with us.

Coming up this week is Stone Soup at Cole's school so I'll be busy preparing Cole's portion and contribution to the soup. We have to provide veggies, barley, and a chicken. In addition to that....last week we did the grocery shopping for the class. We provide the snack two times a year. Imagine this: providing food for 24 (24!) children for a WEEK! Holy cow. My cart was full at Winco and the hardest part is really deciding what portions are appropriate and how much is too much...not enough....and we must have something from each food group. Hello?....does anyone else think that is "totally intense" so Carter and I did the best we could with selecting good wholesome food and then called it "good" and delivered our  car load of groceries. These children must be hungry.

So keeping with the FOOD topic....(isn't it all about the food?!)

On Friday Cole had a special Peruvian feast at school and they requested that the children dress up for the celebration. Here is Cole. He loooooves dressing up in his "wedding clothes" more than anything. This was a week in the making and we carefully ironed his clothes and shined his shoes prior to the Friday event.

Here is Carter...he is not really amused...he's layered up and wearing his fuzzy bear hat courtesy of Grandma Trudo. We are in route to school on a cold morning.

These are cute. They show the classroom and the children sitting nicely. The children set the tables and then sat patiently and waited  to be served their feast. Cole was so excited to see me but I couldn't stay for the meal. It was only for the children.

That brings us to this weekend. Chris worked an extra shift on Saturday so the kids were pretty ancy by Sunday. We spent most of the weekend at home just relaxing and doing laundry  watching movies. We also made cookies. We went to an awesome baker's paradise on Saturday with my Mom and Whitney. All sorts of great pans and mixes...anyways...we made cookies together....and Cole was pretty much in charge of the camera...so he took some pretty funny shots....(I deleted the photos he took of my behind...he thought that was hilarious!)

OK and finally. Here's Mr. Carter in action. He's "helping" me here.....with the laundry with the lovely baskets and then...sat down to have some ba ba. I know.... he just loves it so much...and he just barely started with it at 12 months when I stopped nursing him...and he loooooves it.....we'll wean him off it....sooner than later.....he's just so happy!

BOO!

We had a great Halloween! Cole was UltraMan (he's a Japanese superhero) inspired by Grandpa Bob and Carter was the green monster/dinosaur that UltraMan battles. We went to Boo at the Zoo for the 2nd year but first we stopped over at Grandpa and Grandma Wyllie's. They are just NUTS about Halloweena and the proof is in the photos below. P.s. They also hand out full size candy bars...and KING size candy bars! Crazy! Cole had a great time running around with Grandpa helping put the "finishing" touches on the yard decorations. After Boo at the Zoo we went to visit Grama Trudy and Whitney. Of course, Grama Trudy was handing out homemade cupcakes with worms in the frosting. By the time we arrived Cole was full of sugar and ran from one end of the house to the other....promptly at 9 when we got home he crashed off his sugar high.... and went straight to bed.  Whitney was a chicken for Halloween wrapped in feathers and was wearing yellow plastic gloves on her feet. It was pretty funny.

Enjoy the photos....

Chris went as Kenny G.

Ha! Just kidding! Silly, that's Chris' everday look!

Here is where the King and Queen of Halloween live....

WEEKEND FUN

We had a busy weekend. Chris worked an extra day on Saturday so I was home with the kids on Saturday. This picture is from earlier in the week but I wanted to share it. Carter loves having a bath and then we wrap him up in a warm towel and he is perfectly content. So here's Dad and Carter. Shortly after this Carter took a 3 hour nap. Yes!

So the weekend started with a surprise birthday party for Madison. She turned 20 on the 20th so David planned a suprise party for her Friday night. I was amazed at how many people were there. Madison has alot of friends and most of the people from Swan Valley showed up too. Good job David! There were plenty of kids to play with and Cole had a great time running around playing tag with the kids. David has a very nice shop and all the equipment is perfectly organized.

Here's the happy couple. Madison looked suprised and very happy!

So after the party we came back to Idaho Falls. It was raining and I am of course a nervous wreck driving on Highway 30 so I was glad to get home. A ambulance and police car passed us going very very fast when we were coming home. I'm sure there was an accident with the slick roads. I'm glad we made it home safe.

So Saturday was pretty low key with Chris at work. Cole and I played with his train set for a very long time. (He's actually playing with it again now as I type this.)

Here he is putting Sir Topham Hat in his train carrier, Annie for a ride.

Carter had fun watching.

These are the characters of Thomas the Tank Engine. Mr. Conducter 1 and 2 and Sir Topham Hat.

So after we were done with Thomas it was time for crafts. It's my goal to glitter anything and everything I can and it's perfect timing with all the holidays approaching. We checked out Michaels, the craft store and they are preparing for Christmas....the new Christmas trees are not out yet....but I'm sure we'll be buying a few (if not more) pink Christmas trees again. I have 2 already but we need more. I think Christmas trees in each room is appropriate. We here at the Smith house....LOVE Christmas and all the glitz and glitter that comes with it.

So we glittered pumpkins. We have 5 more to do and 4 LARGE pumpkins but for now we got 2 done. It takes a while.

Silly silly kid.

Here's our finished products.

The next few photos are of Carter "helping" me put away the paper towels....he's so silly!
