COLE and GEORGE W

Let me set the scene for you....

Today...on the couch...Cole is next to me and we are watching Carter play in his jungle on the floor. Carter is amazing in that he can now scoot himself around in a circle on his jungle mat. He likes to play with the parrot mirror the most. It's bright red.

Cole: Mom, where did George W. (yes..he said it!) Bush go?

Me: Um....(stunned!) well he went back to Texas. He should stay there.

Cole: So he had to move out of the White House for Barack Obama?

(again.......shocked and amazed at my genius child...I slowly pick my chin up off the couch cushions)

Me: Yes.

Cole: Then Barack Obama will go back to Texas when he's done with the White House?

Me: No...Barack Obama will go back to Chicago.

Cole: Okay. Mom, can I have a fruit snack now and watch Backyardigans?

Me: (in a daze....what just transpired between us...this kid is 4!!! years old!) Sure honey.

...............and there you have it.

WHEELS-WHERE ARE WE NOW?

This past weekend we took the kids to the Museum of Idaho to check out the current exhibit of vintage cars and motorcycles. In between navigating our HUGE stroller between the vintage cars, pulling  Cole off numerous running boards (no no...do not touch the car from 1903) and nearly missing a vintage motorcycle with the stroller wheel, Cole ended up in his favorite place of all.....the Discovery Room. The Museum was brilliant in providing this oasis of tunnels, water fountains, and interactive computer games to keep children entertained and give parents a break! The room was packed with children. Cole absolutely loved the tunnel and climbing up the rock path to the "tree house" of sorts. Carter, the perfect little ball of love that he is slept the entire time. At this point Chris was able to re-visit some of the vehicles on display. Next up at the Museum.....TITANIC!

Cole has an energy for life I haven't ever experienced. I hope he never loses it!

LET THEM EAT BUTTERNUT SQUASH

Hello! Super exciting news! Carter had his first meal of baby food tonight! Here are some photos of Cole helping me prepare Carter's baby food and it smelled so yummy as it was steaming/baking Cole and I were getting very hungry!

Preparing the squash for it's steam bath (I highly recommend the organic produce from the Eagle Rock Food Co-op downtown IF...gorgeous veggies and a fun store to shop!)

...just out of the oven! Ready to go into the Cuisinart. (thank you Aunt Julia! I use it everyday! Awesome wedding gift!!!)

....In case you are wondering...no Cole has not joined the Village People...he's wearing his monkey "leash" for some reason. Who knows!?

Said leash is very handy at the Eastern Idaho State Fair......with a 3 year old who inhaled a bag of cotton candy!

Somehow that one squeezed in! Cole and Minnie Mouse pez dispenser....too bad he doesn't have any pez candies!

Squash delight is now served! (thank you Grandma Kathy for the awesome dishes for Carter!)

Mr. Carter enjoying his fresh baby food! He gobbled it right up!

TWINKLE TWINKLE

Cole is a professional BIG BROTHER! Here's his rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle" for his biggest fan, Carter.

IT WAS NASTY

Happy Sunday! This morning we were doing some cleaning around the house and Cole was "helping" Chris. You can see for yourself what Cole thought of a bucket outside on the deck. It has been there all winter. Cole definitely doesn't lack a full vocabulary. I have posted more video below as well. If you have a few minutes check them out. Cole and Carter are HILARIOUS!

(I started out the video holding the camera sideways.  It straightens out 1/2 way through! Sorry!)

HELLO!

Today is February 8th. Day 1 of The House of C Blog! I'm going to post my favorite videos of the kids below! Enjoy!

This is from 2/7/2009 Saturday Morning (sorry again...took the video sideways! I'll get it figured out soon!)

ROLLIN! Carter rolled over for the first time from his tummy to back.
