The rest of the story from NYC

For the rest of the story....

We flew out of Salt Lake City. We arrived pretty early at the airport thinking we would check in and drop off the luggage and then have a nice-ish dinner in the airport. Oh boy. We were wrong. We arrived at 7 pm for a flight that departed at 11:15 pm and we soon found out the ticket agents would not arrive until 9:30 to check us in. So we sat for 2 1/2 hours outside the main check in portion of the airport with our luggage and two hungry kids. We did find a small deli and we were able to buy sandwiches wrapped in stiff plastic. So it wasn't really what we were hoping for...but we made it work. Luckily, the ticket agents arrived a 9:00 so we could check in a little early and after we made it through security the kids were busy looking at the airplanes out the window and playing on the walking escalator.

When we finally got onto the plane Carter went right to sleep. It was 11:30 pm afterall.

Cole however...stayed awake the entire flight.

It wasn't until 10 minutes before we landed at 5:30 am NYC time did Cole finally go to sleep.

So my Aunt Julia picked (surprised! I should say!)  us up at the airport at 5:30 am and treated us to some real NYC coffee, bagels with lox and took us back to their house in Scarsdale, NY. The boys rested up and afterwards we headed over to the park to play for a while later in the afternoon.

Then we headed off to The Bronx for some dinner.

Carter was pretty tired and nearly fell asleep eating his pizza.

This was for sure the best pizza I have ever eaten in my entire life.

Cole is in fact drinking Pepsi here. We are on vacation...why not.....he was so tired the extra sugar had little effect on him! The kids were tired but very very happy and excited.

This bakery was probably one of my favorite parts of the trip.

We had to stop so I could take some pictures of the 'public art' in an alley.

Yep, it was awesome.

Game Day: New Meadowlands Stadium

At the game everyone was wearing either Navy clothing or Notre Dame clothing.
No one was dressed normally.

Navy guys and gals are behind the orange and white blocks.

As we entered we had to get behind the line of all women. They did a search of our bags and some folks were getting patted down.

So ND lost. Eventhough they lost it was still exciting.

Sunday: We went on a bit of sightseeing in Manhattan with my cousin, Christina.

This guy was a total character. He had a pet trick show...with some pretty dirty stray animals...
but it was awesome. The dogs and cats looked pretty happy in fact.

And...Elmo's were everywhere.

Monday: We went to an awesome restaurant called Clarke's right next to the Lincoln Center.

The fountain was a big hit.

On our way to the Museum of Natural History

Central Park entrance

Entrance to Museum of Natural History

As we entered the Dinosaur wing at the museum Cole was telling us all about the dinosaurs and then told me, "Mom, I'm quite the paleontologist!"

There was alot to see in the museum. Carter wanted to make sure Cole saw everything with him right by his side and would loudly let us know if he was not happy. Carter is pretty loud...and he was very clear about not wanting to see any big cats.

"No Cats!" Carter told us

After we left the museum we walked through Central Park and then returned back to Scarsdale, NY.

While in Central Park we stopped by the lake so we could take some pictures and Carter started taking off his socks and shoes and he fully intended on 'jumping in the wa wa'. I'm glad he was indeed buckled into the stroller...or he would have definitely been 'in the water'.

It was a very fun trip and we saw alot and did alot. I can't wait to do it again.

Thanks so much to Aunt Julia, Christina, and Uncle Luke for such a wonderful time!
