First Grade is AWESOME

First day of school after the bell waiting patiently in pick-up line.

I pulled into the parking lot and found Mr. Cole Smith looking very relaxed and charming waiting for his ride home for a relaxing afternoon of chocolate milk and his favorite cartoon, Phineas and Ferb.

Day 2 of First Grade:

This is Cole and Carter. Carter is in his jammies with his crazy hair. He's saying "cheeeeeessseee" very loudly here and smiling and squinting as much as his cheeks will allow. Somehow, Carter has caught onto this photograph concept and now anytime I pull out the digital camera he's in front of it. This is obviously a good problem to have.
I can never capture enough minutes of these two little boys growing up. (and too fast at that)

Since Cole is wearing a uniform this year he's expressed his passion for styling his shoes. He has a few pairs of super cool shoes. These are the Chuck Taylors in plaid that he wore today. He explained that if he needs to wear the same clothes as everyone else....he wants to look awesome by wearing different shoes. He's just sure no one else will have plaid shoes or Air Jordans.

Oy vey. Little Chris?

Here's another "cheeeessseee" in his new jammies.

Crazy hair again.

Very cool and calm Cole Smith. Ready for AWESOME 1st Grade.

We leave the house at 7:15 a.m. Yes, that's early.

As we pulled up to the school Cole explained that he had a very exciting feeling in his stomach and that First Grade is AWESOME.

Does Life Ever Slow Down?

Enjoy the pics....I won't be posting for about a week and a 1/2. It's a busy time. I'm off to a weekend in Boise to celebrate with the artists, the Idaho Commission on the Arts,  and my good 'ol buddy Butch Otter, Cowboy (er Governor) of Idaho. The 300 artists submitted their artwork for Paint the State and the Gala is to congratulate the winners! We had over 300 artists create public art in the name of an important message: Meth, Not Even Once. I'll post pictures from the weekend.

It should be a wonderful time.

Next week is Youth Jam. The following week I'm taking a break from work to prepare Cole for 1st grade and then......it will be BACK TO SCHOOL!

Busy busy. And in between all that....our baby boy turns 2!

Now. How did that happen?
