The Wedding

I was up early early early to watch the Wedding of Catherine and William. I recorded every second of it so when the boys woke up they could watch as well. Above, William and Catherine have just left Westminster Abbey and are going by carriage to Buckingham Palace.

A few of my favorite things from the morning:

# 1 Sir Elton John sang from the official program for the Wedding and at one point had to stop
and re-read the page to find the correct verse.

#2 Prince Harry coming into Westminster Abbey with a bit of a swagger and cracking jokes to Prince William as they chat with guests before the ceremony.

#3 The Hats. Need I say more?

#4 The Royal jewerly on display. Diamonds. Swoon.

#5 Two kisses. Not one. Two on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

SQUEAKY Clean

Carter here has covered himself in Desitin. One might think I'm a lazy Mom as he is constantly finding himself in these precarious situations...covered in vaseline, diaper rash cream, lotion, etc., etc.,

However, Carter completed this task in 30 seconds. I was on the phone for literally 30 seconds and in that time he ran to the hallway, found the diaper bag, dug through it until he found the diaper rash cream and covered himself in it.

It took 1/2 a bottle of Dawn dish soap to clean him up. What is not shown in this photo was as I removed his shirt....his entire stomach was covered too.

Weekend Snaps

Mr. Muscles and the little artist.

Smith household bliss (and a bit of chaos).

I was folding laundry on Saturday afternoon and the kids were playing outside with Chris and as I walked back to our bedroom and looked out the window I thought to myself, "We have built a beautiful life together." It really is. We are so lucky.

A Week in Smithlandia

Cole's big project for March was to do a report on a favorite bird and then either draw the bird or cut out pictures of the bird and make a collage. Cole drew the bald eagle for his report and included a bunny in the drawing. He received an A+ on the project.

Upon picking Cole up from school we then proceeded to sing to Katy Perry's new CD and Cole performed "Air Guitar" in the car. Here he is debuting his moves. Carter is doing "Jazz Hands" here.

Cole also had a dentist appointment and he did not have any cavities. Score for Mom and Dad!

The finale to Sunday afternoon is the Oscar Mayer Weiner Mobile came to our city. Amazing.

The kids ended up with whistles and a sticker.

Sunday night dinner included Poulet en Cocotte Bonne Femme from Julia Child. This is just a fancy way to say chicken with potatoes and onions. It was devine. Delish. We've eaten it for 2 days.
Tonight however is TACO TUESDAY.
