Halloween and Scouts

Every year we go to "Boo at the Zoo" for Halloween. This year since Halloween was on Sunday we celebrated on Friday and Saturday night. For numerous reasons our city doesn't celebrate any holidays on Sundays. Chris and I think this practice by the city is ridiculous but it's just how it is here. There wasn't one trick or treater out on Sunday in our neighborhood. So we took advantage of what we could and had a Halloween weekend for the kids.

The kids this year wanted to be Rally Race Car Drivers for Subaru. Hm....I wonder if Chris had anything to do with this idea? So it was up to me to figure out how to make the costumes match that of the Rally Drivers. Rally Drivers race in off road terrain that is full of mud and twists and turns and the boys love watching it on tv. So Chris found an image of a uniform with the help of our good friends at Google and I re-created all the logos and printed them onto iron on paper and then Chris and I worked on ironing them onto the blue sweat suits. The kids were pretty happy.

And the finishing touch on the costumes....were gold shoes. You'll see why below.

Carter is a 'mini me' of Cole

So the gold shoes match the gold wheels on Chris' car.

A few weekends later we had a scouting event for Cole that involved the police and a police trained dog.

The kids watched the dog attack the 'bad guy' and then sniff out hidden drugs. It was pretty awesome.
Then they were able to crawl all over the police car.

The boys all crawled into the back seat and Cole said "Hey, all the cub scouts got arrested!"
 It was funny!
