Late August Happenings

Baby Logan was born! We drove to Logan that night to meet him. Too bad this was as close as our kids could get to him. The hospital had a rule that no one under 14 could go back to see the babies. We totally understood...the kids were just a little sad. He's super tiny in these photos and was just hours old. 6 lbs 9 ounces at birth...but he was 4 weeks early. Go Madi and David!!! They are going to be amazing parents. Logan is a very lucky little boy.

That weekend was the Snake River Duck Race so we headed down to the river for some fun.

Carter turned 4! Wowza. So much fun! So we had a special dinner for him before his party at The Snakebite in downtown Idaho Falls. It is very delicious.

Our little 4 year old on his birthday.

Cole made him a special sign that read "Happy Birthday Carter" and designed a trailer for his remote control car to pull it. Pretty innovative!

Carter's PARTY!

Last weekend we headed to Butte, MT. It has been a super busy month. We were I believe in at least 5 states in a span of 3 weeks. California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Montana.

Butte Farmer's Market and also Artisan Market.

Visited the Mining Museum of Montana and the kids LOVED seeing all the artifacts.

Along with seeing all the HUGE machines.

Pretty awesome. School begins next Tuesday. I'm pretty excited for the kids. It's been a whirlwind of a Summer. I just LOVE summer and the kids do too. One thing we did not do that was on our list of fun for 2012: swimming lessons. So we will have to do that this fall. Cole has flag football with his first game this week and hopefully we can get Carter into a fall sport. He was 2 weeks too young for soccer so we'll find him a sport to begin. Both kids are just incredible and so clever and
unique in their own ways. We are so fortunate.

Disneyland!!!!

There's no introduction....the pictures just say it all! (Except we did spend over 10 hours the first day in the park and the second day was 15 hours in Disneyland and also California Adventure.
It was AMAZING.)

Cole did indeed ask me this morning if it was all a dream and was curious if we really did go to Disneyland. The kids still can't believe it all happened.

We took 2 days to drive to California. This was our first stop at the Brick Oven Bakery for some delicious pizza and calzones in Salt Lake City.

Driving thru St. George

Pipe cleaners to keep the kids busy.

Vegas! I think we ate at In N Out Burger no less than 5 times.

Mandalay Bay. We stopped and checked out Mandalay Bay. I thought we could see the sharks for free....but sadly it's very expensive to see them so we just enjoyed the stroll through the hotel. We can do that on another visit.

More creations.

On our way to Disneyland. We had just checked into our hotel and were riding over to Disneyland. The kids thought this was Disneyland. They didn't realize Disneyland was an entire park!

This is the first ride we did. Autotopia.

Very serious about his driving.

Big Thunder! (But....afterwards there weren't so many smiles....it was a pretty fast rollercoaster and the kids were a little freaked out!)

Train in Storybook Land

Splash Mountain!!!

Day 2-We started at 7:15 am.

7:15 am on the Teacups.

We had a special pass to go to Toon Town at 8 am 1 entire hour before that part of the Park even opened.

Because we had that special pass the kids could meet the characters 1 on 1 and have as many photos as possible with them.

We also had the pleasure of watching the Toon Town Town Hall Meeting. The kids are sitting here patiently waiting with their brand new Mickey's.

The Town Hall Meeting begins!

There were only around 50 people there so it was very special...considering at noon we guessed over 100,000 people were in one section of the Park alone. (maybe not quite...but there were alot of people in the Park)

Goofy's house.

Mickey's house.

Fountain outside of Minnie & Mickey's house.

I am bustin' a move here. (Oh my gosh. So funny.)

Minnie's house.

Mickey's car!

Tarazan's house.

Back at the hotel. The Grand Californian.

Day 2 of Disney. Tired kids!

Breakfast with the characters. Very special.

Candy store.

LEGOS!

Lego store had a cool outdoor track area for the kids to build and race their own cars.

Some fun balloon art at lunch.

Dinner at The Napa Rose.

Heading home!
